Removal

_
The AspireAssist™ can be removed at any time though a simple 15-minute outpatient procedure. Removal is similar to the placement procedure, and is performed under conscious sedation (general anesthesia is not required). The A-Tube site usually closes naturally on its own afterwards.

While the AspireAssist is intended for long-term use, some patients (or their physicians) may wish to remove the A-Tube after weight loss, or for medical reasons.
